RIBES RUBRUM SEED OIL
The redcurrant is native to Western Europe and grows mainly in France, Belgium and England. It is now also grown in Asia and North America. It grows wild in wet ash and alder woods, in ditches and in bushes. The redcurrant is a 1-2 m high, deciduous shrub. The leaves are three to five lobed and heart-shaped. The greenish flowers grow in hanging clusters. The fruits are red berries, with a sour taste. The berries are harvested only when they are ripe.
How organic redcurrant seed oil is produced:
To obtain the organic redcurrant seed oil, first of all the berries are pressed, then the pulp is washed off the seeds. After that, the seeds are dried and cold pressed. The organic redcurrant seed oil is of yellow to greenish-brown col-or, with a greasy, green, slightly fruity, sometimes smoky-waxy odour and fruity flavour. Redcurrant seed oil is one of the oils with the highest gamma-linolenic acid content.
