Organic Apricot Oil
Organic Apricot Oil and Its Use in the Food Industry
The organic apricot oil, sometimes also called apricot kernel oil, is a particularly high-quality edible oil for the food industry and the food trade.
The nutty taste of organic apricot oil develops a full-bodied marzipan aroma that melts on the tongue, especially in sweet dishes, desserts such as cakes, panna cotta, and fruit yoghurts and in dessert sauces.
Since we leave our organic apricot kernel oil native as not to lose the flavor and aroma, it is not suitable for frying or deep-frying.
What are the ingredients of the organic apricot oil?
The organic apricot oil for the food industry provides a high proportion of unsaturated fatty acids, especially omega-6 fatty acids. These fatty acids cannot be produced by the body, but must be taken in through food.
Trivia
The apricot tree originally came from Manchuria (China) to Armenia. It was cultivated in Italy as early as Roman times. This is why the Latin name translates as “Armenian plum”.
The apricot tree is about three to four meters high and blooms in pale pink to white. The apricot fruit is a velvety, orange-red ball that is grooved in length.
The kernels of the apricot, which are used for the production of the apricot kernel oil, are rock-hard and about three cm long. Inside are the softer, almond-like seeds from which the apricot oil is cold-pressed.
