Palmarosa Oil ORGANIC
Palmarosa is a tropical, reed-like grass of the sweet grass family. Its blades of grass smell like roses. Although related to lemongrass and citronella, it contains predominantly geraniol rather than citral like its relatives, which explains its rosy rather than citrusy scent. Organic Palmarosa oil is obtained from the palmarosa blades of grass by steam distillation.
Essential palmarosa oil is a mobile, (light )yellow coloured liquid. It has a characteristic, rosy-bloomy scent.
Organic palmarosa oil is valued by naturopaths primarily because of its general skin compatibility and its effect against viruses, bacteria and fungi. Skin problems such as acne, diaper rash or athlete’s foot are said to be combated in this way. A soothing effect on middle ear infections is also attributed to organic palmarosa oil.
Organic palmarosa oil is also popular in the cosmetics industry due to its good skin tolerance and antibacterial effect. In addition to products against impure skin, the cosmetics industry likes to use it for anti-aging products and in body and face care for sensitive skin, since organic palmarosa oil is said to have a revitalizing and slightly regenerative effect. The floral scent, which will remind you of roses, makes organic palmarosa oil popular with children. As a substitute for rose oil or geranium oil, perfumers create wonderful, floral scents with a warm heart note.
The organic palmarosa oil can be used as a flavoring agent in the food industry. But it is rarely found in the recipes.
