Organic Sunflower oil HO
Organic, High-oleic Sunflower Oil and Its Use in the Food Industry
The food industry takes advantage of the mild taste of organic sunflower oil and uses it, for example, to make mayonnaise, tartar sauce or margarine. It is also suitable as a salad oil, for baking and marinating.
Since only certain, naturally grown sunflower varieties with a very high proportion of monounsaturated oleic acid are used to obtain the high-oleic BIO sunflower oil, it is more heat-stable than the original, linoleic acid-rich (= linoleic) form. This makes our high-oleic BIO sunflower oil ideal for frying and deep-frying. Refining the oil enhances this property.
If you prefer sunflower oil with a higher proportion of linoleic acid, we will be happy to supply you with natural or refined organic sunflower oil linoleic.
Trivia
The sunflower actually originates from North America and spread further and further south. The Incas worshiped the sunflower as the face of God. At the end of the 16th century it was brought to Europe by Spanish sailors.
The sunflower plant with its coarse hairy stem grows between one and two meters high. Your bud turns towards the sunlight. In the course of a sunny day, it follows the course of the sun from east to west. The unmistakable, blooming, yellow daisy flower mostly points continuously to the east.
The sunflower oil comes from the seeds, the sunflower seeds, in the flower head. They are peeled, ground and then gently cold-pressed.
