Organic Sesame Oil
Organic Sesame Oil and Its Use in the Food Industry
Organic sesame oil is an enrichment for the food industry. In terms of taste, it adds a special touch to every dish. The food industry therefore likes to use it for Asian cuisine, be it for salad dressings, fish and meat dishes or for baked goods. Due to its naturally relatively high smoke point, it is suitable for searing steaks. It can also be used to make margarine.
What are the ingredients of organic sesame oil?
In addition to unsaturated fatty acids, organic sesame oil contains minerals and trace elements that the body can only absorb from food.
Trivia
The history of sesame is long. The ancient Egyptians and Greeks are said to have used the plant. It actually comes from the African tropics, but is now primarily grown in India, China and Egypt.
The sesame plant, which is up to one meter high, resembles an herbaceous version of the foxglove, as its pink to white calyxes hang down. The ripe fruits are brown, 2 to 3 cm long capsules that contain about 80 to 100 yellowish, red or almost black seeds.
To produce the sesame oil, the fruit capsules are dried, the seeds are shaken out and cleaned before we gently cold-press them.
